venom sketch card
Venom (Eddie Brock), Spider-Man’s symbiote supervillain, created with graphite and gold ink as the design by Mark Bartle. A homage to the trail blazer iconic illustrator Joe Jusko and his infamous 1992 Skybox Marvel Masterpieces trading cards now published by Upper Deck. Jusko’s art brought out a darker side of the comic book heroes and villains. “It just seemed like a really cool project that took on a life of its own and its popularity has truly stood the test of time.” (Joe Jusko, Upperdeck blog).
Venom is a sentient alien symbiote with an amorphous, liquid-like form, who survives by bonding with a host, usually human. He has super strength, agility, and shape-shifting abilities, and functions as something of an antihero or antivillain. He started out as a supervillain and eventually turned over a new leaf as an anti-hero vigilante. In comic book history, Venom has worked with Spider-Man to defeat Carnage and save humanity.
